The sun is finally making an occasional appearance, and you probably don't feel like you are going to freeze to death if you step outside anymore. That can only mean one thing-- spring is coming! Spring is getting a three-week head start from its official beginning on March 20th. But aside from warmth, what makes spring great is the activities. With the weather clearing up and people eager to spend time outside, it’s the perfect time to start having festivals!
But with so many festivals and so little time, who can research them all and see what’s good and/or appropriate for you and your family, if applicable? Well, we have taken it upon ourselves to highlight five festivals to be at this season! Each festival is followed by a brief description, and we note whether this is a family-friendly event or more of an excuse for the adults to get out.
Pike Place Market Arcade Lights: March 24
Despite the name, this is not a festival showing off classic arcade games (which is what I thought originally… oops). It is an craft beer, artisan food, cider and cocktail tasting held at Pike Place Market. The event is 21+, so leave the kiddos at home and enjoy an evening out! Tickets start at $60 and you can order them here.

Seattle Scotch & Beer Fest: April 14-15
Held at Fremont Studios, Seattle Scotch and Beer Fest is a premier beer, Scotch, wine, and whiskey tasting event. At the event, guests are able to taste and learn about these alcoholic beverages. The proceeds go towards The World Is Fun, an organization focused on getting people involved with their community. Similar to the Arcade Lights, this is an event tailored towards adults. So grab your buddies and drink some beer and scotch! Designated Driver tickets start at $20 and drinking tickets go up from there. Check out the site here!

Seattle Maritime Festival: May 12-14
Widely known, Seattle Maritime Festival is a staple of Seattle culture. The event celebrates Seattle’s Five Star Waterfront with boat races, live music, a chowder cook-off, story telling session, poetry, and a family fun day! This event is clean and wholesome fun for the whole family. Check out events and registration here!

Bacon and Beer Classic: May 29
The Bacon and Beer Classic is a worldwide event held at iconic sporting arenas. The Seattle extension is held at Safeco Field and highlights local brews and bacon-infused dishes from local chefs. The event offers games, contests, charity opportunities, and exploration of sporting arenas on this off game weekend. This is another 21+ event with tickets starting at $59.00 and going up from there. Check out their ticket options here!
